I was captivated by the philosophy, ethics, and historical underpinnings of governance and human rights, particularly the impactful scope of constitutional and international law.
My academic and professional path has since centered on dissecting complex systems, from the intricacies of human behavior to the realities of global policy. Coursework in Sustainable Development, International Criminal Law, Conflict and Security, and Ethnopolitical Landscapes deepened my understanding of humanity's challenges. Simultaneously, my studies in Social Psychology, Personality, and Emotions provided a unique lens, equipping me with the ability to understand, influence, and navigate intricate human dynamics. This interdisciplinary approach transformed adversity into a unique capacity to analyze, predict, and influence world events, consistently driving my pursuit to understand the origins of conflict and the pathways to healing.
My foundational desire is to make a tangible difference, which led me to pursue internships with non-profit organizations, engaging directly with international aid and human rights. While initially considering roles within governmental agencies, my commitment to structural change and independent thought solidified the path to building my own platform. This journey has been defined by a relentless drive to understand and address systemic flaws, fostering solutions that truly represent and protect collective interests.
My Guiding Philosophy
My philosophy centers on justice and an empathetic understanding of the human condition. I advocate for a re-evaluation of power dynamics, believing that societal advancement stems from empowering all voices and fostering healing across divides. Timeless narratives inspire my values. I uphold love, honesty, and kindness as the basis of progress.
Figures like Eve from the Garden of Eden, envisioned as a powerful goddess embodying inherent strength, and Medusa, who found protection and transformation after profound injustice, resonate deeply with my understanding of human resilience and power. Similarly, the teachings of Jesus, emphasizing compassion for the marginalized, forgiveness,
and a focus on core virtues over rigid dogma, inform my belief in love and honesty as universal principles for unity, transcending superficial divisions. These narratives built the foundation of my mindset and philosophies, leading me to understand that true progress stems from a commitment to treating others as one wishes to be treated, rather than seeking retribution. While accountability is essential, I believe in guiding behavior and fostering growth through positive reinforcement for desired actions and the thoughtful application of negative consequences to address undesirable ones. In rare, specific circumstances, a firm, clear consequence can serve as a powerful deterrent, setting an example to prevent future transgressions.
Building on this foundation of human behavior, I believe that dismantling societal prejudices begins with strategic exposure.
Psychology demonstrates that biases in young children are best prevented through diverse experiences, and existing prejudices can be mitigated by a "human bridge"—an individual who can relate to the biased person, build trust, and then gently introduce them to differences. This bridge facilitates pleasant shared experiences, offers support, and safely challenges existing norms, eventually leading to broader understanding through repeated exposure, shared culture, and open dialogue in a safe environment. This principle underscores the importance of representation, from diverse characters in media and art, such as Black, Brown, and Asian Disney Princesses, to national holidays recognizing minority cultures, and increased government representation by minorities. This is not propaganda, but an expansion of ideas and perspectives, crucial for true unity.
Extending this need for diverse representation into governance, I advocate for a system with more than just two dominant political parties. While the human inclination for groups makes political parties unavoidable, a diverse nation with varied regional, state, and local cultures requires a broader spectrum of representation. Many individuals find themselves unrepresented by the current binary political landscape, as their beliefs span or transcend traditional party lines.
Ultimately, I believe in the power of people as the ultimate shapers of governance. I advocate for structural reform that truly represents and protects public interests.
